History and People.

Pork nurtured by the great nature and deep affection of IwateSasuke Sangenton(Commonly known as Sasuke Pork)is produced at Kuji Farm, located at the foot of Mt. Oritsumedake in northern Iwate Prefecture.Farms in Karumai Town, headquarters and processing plant in Ninohe City))

Kuji Farm was started as a business by my grandfather, Sasuke, and has been passed down through generations to my father, Shuhei, and the current president, Takeshi Kuji.

Over the approximately 30 years leading up to the handover to the third generation, starting from the first generation, Sasuke, we repeatedly experimented and refined our research on breeding, raising, and meat quality. Finally, we succeeded in producing pork that is "free of gamey odors and so juicy that the fat melts in your mouth."

Today, thanks to years of trial and error, the reputation of Sasuke Pork has spread, and we receive orders specifying the brand from restaurants, hotels, and eateries.

Initially, our clients were only restaurants within Ninohe City, but word of mouth spread, and now Sasuke Pork is handled by approximately 500 establishments nationwide, including those in Iwate Prefecture and the Kanto region.

I am Takeshi Kuji.

After graduating from high school in Ninohe City, the current president, Takeshi Kuji, attended a culinary school in Shinjuku, Tokyo, and then worked at a renowned hotel in the city.

Initially, I intended to become a chef, but being away from home made me realize the deliciousness of "Sasuke" pork, and I became strongly determined to take over the family business. I worked for a major meat wholesaler and a long-established sukiyaki restaurant for training, and returned to Ninohe in 2001.

However, at first, our pigs were bought by meat processors, processed, and became "nameless pigs" whose distribution we didn't know.

It seemed wrong that we couldn't see the end of the pigs' journey, and that the value of the same life, raised with the same care, would fluctuate based on the buyer's convenience.

After taking over from my father, I built our own meat processing plant in December 2003 and decided to sell directly to restaurants, bypassing meat wholesalers.

By raising and producing our own pigs, and taking responsibility for selling them ourselves, we fulfill our responsibility to the lives we have nurtured until the very end.

2021. The fact that we have been able to sell Sasuke Pork for 17 years is thanks to the warm support of our customers, the colleagues who worked with us, and the family who always watched over us.

That is precisely why we must ensure that not only our customers who have supported us but also our employees and their families feel happiness. I believe that realizing the happiness of everyone involved depends on the management's skill, and without challenging that, there is no meaning.
